Connect With Your Community (Patients) Using Social Media

Post Video Message From the Doctor

We are all facing one of the toughest times of our lives both as business owners and a member of society. As hard as it is for each of us, there must be more that we can do to engage and support each of our communities.

Let's take a look at what you can do for your community using Social Media during this pandemic.

Inspire & Influence

Create a 1-minute video with a message to your community (patients) about how you are spending your days during this pandemic and ways you are staying hopeful and calm. Inspire your community to do certain things to keep their days busy and productive during this time. Help people to see the light during these tough times.

Do you have some favorite products? Share your reason and why it's become your must have item at the house. Your opinion matters. As a consumer, I don't know if a bamboo toothbrush is any better than an electric toothbrush. You may know the answer to this one. Great! That's a good information to share with your community.

You can also share a review on an electric toothbrush set that you sell or giveaway in your practice with certain treatments. Let your community know why you stand behind it and what the difference is to using any old toothbrush. Or, maybe it doesn't matter at all which toothbrush we use. Then, share that!

Helpful Tips

Create a 1-minute video of helpful tip such as, how to properly brush children's teeth in the evenings or when to replace toothbrushes. Also share when to contact a dentist for emergencies. There are many oral health tips, remedies and tutorials you can share with your community. Let this be the most perfect time for you to share.

I recently saw an Instagram post that a famous Hollywood hair stylist uploaded. Of course, she's at a lockdown "stay at home" as well and so she shared a bunch of 1-2 minute videos showing how to curl your hair, how to straighten you hair and even shared some helpful tips on using dry shampoo properly. Cool. You get the idea.

You can do the same, just in the topic of oral health.

Treatment Education

Create a 1-minute video about a favorite treatment. Let me give you an example. As much information we have on the internet regarding dental implants, people are still wanting to know more. A common question asked is, "Should I get a bridge or choose to go through with a dental implant? My doctor says I can choose either or." Hmm, I don't know about you, but there's got to be a clear definition to both options and at that point, it makes it so much easier for the patients to make a decision. These are the types of education that your community would love to have from you, the doctor.

Becoming an influencer is easier than you think. Sharing these short videos often will engage your community to follow you for more and at that point, a lot of what you say matters. That's what an influencer is.

How you use this time is up to you, but why not use it productively?

I can go on and on about what other videos you can post on your social media, but these three types are a great start.

If you have any questions or what more ideas, please don't hesitate to connect with me helen@mastersarch.com.

I also edit videos for $50 for our providers, in case you didn't know.

Cheers to a new day!

Helen
